Extension rings - click to enlarge Flowers, blooms, insects, jewelry, postage stamps and many other small objects offer themselves for close-ups with your PRAKTICA. If you hold your camera too near to the object, the length of the lens worm drive will not be sufficient to bring the object into focus. What is necessary with such a reduced object distance (distance between film and object) is to increase the image distance (distance between film and lens). This is done by screwing extension rings, combined to suit the desired image scale, between the camera body and lens.

So equipped, you are prepared to delve into an almost unknown world. Items hardly seen before now take a size making it worthwhile freezing them.

Extension rings (208510) and extension rings with plungers (208832) are available for all PRAKTICA models as sets of three rings having a length of 7, 14 and 28 mm. By using one, two or three extension rings, image scales to 1.0 are available with lenses of a focal length of 50 mm. An automatic stopping down of the diaphragm is possible when plunger-type extension rings are used.

Such rings are also available for PRAKTICA models with electric aperture value transmission (type 208400); they are additionally provided with contact banks. A set consists of two rings having lengths of 12.5 and 25 mm, resp. In connection with the long worm drive 01 the PRAKTICA s1andard lenses, focusing distances from the infinity selling are feasible to an Image scale of about 1.0.

The set of two extension rings with cable release connection and cable (208404) is intended for PRAKTICA models with electric aperture value transmission used with a bellows attachment, also in connection with a reversing ring (208580). A cable release actuates the automatic diaphragm system.
