Battery installationBattery installation

Open the battery compartment by sliding its cover (8) in the direction of the arrow and hinging up. Insert four Alkaline penlight batteries - HP7, MN1500, AM3 or similar types. Ensure that the "plus" and "minus" sings on the batteries correspond to the diagram inside the compartment. Rechargeable Nickel Cadmium batteries may also be used in this model. Close the cover (8).

One set of batteries should last for about twenty 24-esposure films. Replace all four batteries when the winding speed drops.

Ensure that the On/Off switch (5) is in the "Off" position. Fit the winder to the camera base by aligning the Guide Pin (1) and the Power Contacts (3) with the guide pin and contact sockets respectively on the camera base. The Wind-on Coupling (2) should, at the same time, couple with the winder socket. Turn the Retaining Screw (4) clockwise to firmly attach the power winder to the camera.

To operate the winder

Turn the On/Off switch (5) to the "On" position, the power winder is now for instant use.

NB. If, prior to attaching the winder to the camera, the shutter has been released but film not advanced, switching on the power will activate the mechanism. The film will immediately be wound-on and the shutter cocked.

Once switched on, the Auto Power Winder will operate automatically whenever the shutter is released - winding on the film and cocking the shutter in just half a second. To take a single shot, take your finger of the shutter release as soon as the shutter has fired. To take a sequence, keep your finger on the release, the camera will take pictures and the winder will advance the film - continuously, at the rate of two frames per second. With this model, it is also possible to advance the film manually by the camera's lever wind when the unit is switched off.

At the end of the film

When the end of the film is reached a special tension device switches off the circuitry to avoid scratching or spoiling the film and also to conserve battery power. Occasionally an extra exposure, over the last number on the counter, is possible. If you ignore the counter and rely on the unit to tell you when the end is reached, please remember that the last photo may be party spoilt in the processing.
To remove the film from the camera, push up the Rewind Button (6) and rewind the film into the cassette in the usual way.

NB. Be sure to turn the On/Off switch (5) to the "Off" position when changing films. If this is not done, the winder will not operate with the new film even though it is set to "On".
