Bellows attachments - click to enlargeLike the extension rings, they are used when the worm drive of the lens is not sufficiently long for a desired image scale. The effect of bellows attachments is identical to that of extension rings: the frame can be filled with a very small object photographed from a short distance. The bellows attachments inclusive of the focusing slide and lens reversing ring will be described in the following.
Small bellows attachment (722100) Portable unit with steplessly adjustable bellows extension for efficient close-up focusing. Image scales that can be attained with PRAKTICA standard lenses: from 0.7 to 2.5. Usable with and without tripod. Camera can be turned about optical axis and locked in any position. Special lens with flush mount for focusing from infinity, see page 15.

Bellows attachment consisting of bellows (715532) and focusing slide (715521). Mainly for stationary use (with tripod or copying stand). Long bellows extension: image scales that can be attained with PRAKTICA standard lenses: from 0.7 to 4.4. Focusing slide with extension scale and lockable rack-and-pinion drive; camera can be turned about optical axis and locked in any position. Special lens with flush mount for focusing from infinity.

Focusing slide (208201) for all PRAKTICA cameras. The focusing slide in connection with all extension rings and the small bellows attachment as well as the tripod allows sale close-up focusing by varying the object distance, with the chosen image scale being maintained.

Lens reversing ring (208580) for all PRAKTICA models. For close-ups with Image scales of 1.5 and more. Lens correction is calculated for long object distance and short image distance. Therefore, to achieve optimum sharpness in case of close-ups with a short object distance and a long image distance, the lens is reversed so that the rear lens element laces the object.

bellows unit for the Praktica Bayonet mouThis is the bellows unit for the Praktica Bayonet mount cameras mounted on a Jenaflex AM1 which was a special edition of the BC3 to commemorate 50 years of SLR manufacture. The lens is a Zeiss 135 mm f3.5 which focusses to 1 metre unaided, and which will go much closer when on the bellows, whilst allowing a good distance between the front element and the subject.

It has the 3 electronic contacts which enable the meter to be used at full aperture, the wires are carried within the spring you see leading to and from the large circular dial on the side. This dial indicates the max/minimum amount of extension in centimetres; and there is a mechanical rod connection to allow the lens to stop down automatically without the double cable release necessary with the M42 screw mount.
