Cameras -> Praktica nova:
Bringing the Praktica line up-to-date, the Praktica nova series adopted a more conventional layout, with top-mounted thumb wind, inclined shutter release button which became standard, and hinged back, but the hinge is positioned on the left side of the body. Still retaining the dual-range shutter design as in the VF, the nova and its metered sibling nova B was further updated by the nova 1 and nova1B. A single non-rotating dial with even spacing replaced the lift-turn-and-drop shutter speed dial, and the PL (Pentacon Loading) system was introduced which remained standard until the end of the Praktica M42 camera.

Based on the nova body were other interesting models. The Prakticamat incorporated a TTL (Though-The-Lens) metering system based on the stopped-down metering principle, and its simplified successor super TL became a best-seller. The Praktica electronic incorporates an electronically timed shutter, while the simplified Pentaflex was aiming at the lower end of the market.
